INTO ACTION (MEDICAL STUFF)

Progress of sorts.

There was that wonderful lunch with Margot and Zoe, then Marta…who left us with a clean house, and finally a home-health nurse visit.  That was a busy day.  Yesterday was a busy day too with a visit in La Jolla with my Cardiologist and another home OT health visit.

All this couldn’t be done without G’s help, mind you.

The cardiologist said my heart was just fine.  Normal as were my BP and my O2 intake at 95%.  She is only concerned about the AFib.  I refuse to add another med to my too many med collection even knowing that AFib causes stroke.  Ah well.  The best bit from the wonderful Cardiologist was a change in the instructions for the water pill.

I’ve been having to change clothes about five times a day.  I leaked through onto everything this week.  Now on ultra busy days, I don’t have to take any pills.  The following day I take two pills…..and wear my mu-mu.

Today  is another ultra busy day, and one without a water pill in sight.  Laundry and shower now.  Home visit guaranteed at one.  Lots of phone calls to arrange all this.  I have to be at the Doctor’s at three as they won’t prescribe antibiotics without a swab.

  • Myself:  Feeling as if I have gone into action at last.
  • Reading:  Johnson and Bill Millers ship books.
  • Watching:  KPBS:  Antiques Roadshow

  • Gratitude’s:   That many phone calls produced appointments that all work well together.

  1. You certainly are busy.
Congrats on the good cardio numbers and a workable adjustment with the water pills. Good when they can see our problems and work with us.

  4. My turn at the cardiologist's tomorrow a.m. During my last visit the cardiologist said I had A-fib. First I'd heard of it. :/ One day at a time... one pill at a time! Thankfully, my cardiologist took two pills away during my last visit. Gotta love that...

  7. had my followup with the electrophysiologist last week...maintaining the status quo. he insists on my taking eliquis, a de-coagulent that thankfully does not require constant blood tests, with my afib med. no strokes on his watch he tells me.

my insurance keeps wanting to send out a home health check which we always refuse. we're not doddering or incapable of taking care of ourselves yet.

  8. It is a nightmare to schedule all those doctor visits and I admire your ability. My illness over the last year had me at wits end with all the different meds. I hate them all, but they are necessary. Keep up your good spirits and congrats on the good health news.

  10. Glad you're getting and giving those hugs now. Medical appointments, meds, tests etc. can have a way of consuming a day, energy as well as funds. Hang in there -- sounds like you're managing well.
