A collection of Orts and Leavings:
Thoughts on the news: I am so frightened for the women and girls in Afghanistan. Their world will soon be back in the Biblical times, far beyond the dark ages. As a child, George took a trip from Pakistan to Afghanistan. He has pictures of the country, and I suggested he post them today.
News: Haiti: I watched the films of the collapsed buildings and noted
their streets were just like those in Tijuana.
Boosters: After I post this, I have to call my primary care doc and get my blood pressure meds back in order. While I am on the phone, being imuno-compromised, I will ask for a booster shot.

- Himself: OT at 8, fixed the new toilet seat, now out in space.
- Myself: Read until nine today…with a sense of guilt. Quilting after doc call.
- Reading: Bujold.
- Watching: Bake.
- Photo: Mine.
- Weather: Not too bad.
- Gratitude’s: George, the sewing machine, the sunshine.

ReplyDeleteI can’t bear seeing the news about Afghanistan. Devastating.
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you're planning to get the booster shot, Mage. We're waiting until later in the year to get it so we can time it for a trip we had planned a long time ago. And yes, the news from Afghanistan is absolutely frightening and so incredibly horrible and sad.
ReplyDeleteGet your booster shot! Such a sad state of affairs around the world. A young Afgan who was a nurse I knew returned to her homeland some years ago. I wonder what has become of her? Life does not bode well for so many females in so many countries.
ReplyDeleteThe news weighs heavy these days. Thanks for the reminder of a fun movie. One line from that movie I always remember is "No body is perfect."
ReplyDeleteNothing in the world is right, and our only job is to carry on.
ReplyDeleteNews is awful, but your posts aren't.
