Blogger continues to mystify me. I would dearly like to change my link color, but am left confused. I’ve got changing the headers down, but I find last sentences suddenly large and overwhelming. Instead of blending in, they knock you down.
My sewing machine knocked me down yesterday. It ate a thread, into the upper mechanism of the machine instead of the lower. I’ve never had that happen before, and this modern machine end cover doesn’t just flip open. Yes, I ran “Bernina 1008” through Google and YouTube. Not one video told me how to take my machine apart. I had an educated guess. George was able to open up the machine and remove the tattered thread bits when he got home from the museum.
Yes, I am determined to finish this quilt. It may be the last quilt, but it is going to get done. The big bird near the top is done. It looks really fine, if I may say so myself.
Today, instead of quilting, I’ve been reading the two subscription papers I get every day. The NY Times and the Washington Post grabbed me with their one dollar a month offers. And I’ve been eating. Gained a pound too, darn it.
“Can I help,” I call out toward the kitchen.
“No, I’m fine,” he calls back. And his scrambled eggs were really good.
So instead of being knocked down, I’m off to invent shiny gold bushes and leaves behind that nice big shiny crow.

ReplyDeleteTo ensure uniform type size, before I publish I hilight the entire text, top to bottom, then go to text size and select Large. Then back to the body, click so the hilight disappears, and select Publish. Hope this helps.
ReplyDeleteGood CT results this time around
ReplyDeleteExcellent news!!! Thank you! We'll find out the nitty-gritty on Robert come Friday; I had thought his appt. was Thursday but a look at the calendar says Friday.
DeleteI have a number of friends who quilt. I have totally lost the talent or energy for sewing and my Viking machine sits idle under a plastic cover. I take photos...click, click, click. Not leaving behind any great treasures when I go. I spend minutes looking through the html version of my post and find where I dropped the text code before or after some photo. It is awful to do.
ReplyDeleteYour snippets at the bottom usually have a broken tag. I think you need quotes around the "http://geeeee-zer.blogspot.com/" in the Himself:
ReplyDeleteYou didn't mention it, but I like the photo.
I did mention the photo. It's a friend named Michael at the Getty in LA.
DeleteGood to see you are getting some tech advice. I am still a kindergartner at this and can't help but I will try what some of the commenters suggest.
ReplyDeleteI know Michael's face but can't remember his last name nor how it is that I know him. Sorry about your sewing machine problem. Glad George could fix it. I've had the same thing happen to me and all I could do was rethread the machine and slowly pull the thread through the slots, hoping to catch the bit of thread lodged in there. Thankfully, it worked the one time I had a glitch there. Persevere on that quilt and eventually it will be done. I love Washington Post's articles. Kudos for your subscribing to it. Hugs...
