There were hero’s everywhere that day. One traffic chopper remained in the air with a police copter. The bridges and tunnels were closed, but hundreds of boats crowded the waters of New York harbor bringing over 500,000 people to safety in nine hours.

I had forgotten about the boat lift. Thanks for the reminder of just one of the many times people stepped up to help that day. We were one.
ReplyDeleteIt's heartening to know that heroes stepped up to the mark when a crisis arose. That's so remarkable. It's good to remember that instead of only focusing on the misery of that awful day.
ReplyDeleteSo many heroes. I will always remember and admire John Stewart's war to provide better health support for the first responders.
ReplyDeleteI saw a documentary recently about the boat lift. Inspiring!
ReplyDeleteThat first you tube is very moving
