I came home a week ago to Chinese takeout.
Sunday night was meatloaf, a nice juicy, flavorful meatloaf. He did a little research amongst my old cookbooks,
then he added minced chilies. Yes, it
sure was good. We had Meatloaf sandwiches
for lunch, and we had hot meatloaf with a salad. Marston’s dressing was a glorious addition to
the crisp lettuce and tomatoe bits.
Noodles and cream cheese: A young
lady from Russia showed us how to make this using equal parts butter and cream
cheese. Melt them together and stir till
smooth. Cook the noodles, and pour on
the cream cheese mixture. Serve as a
side dish to almost anything. Or by
themselves.
Back to the Urals with cabbage, noodles, and Kielbasa for another dinner. Then he snuck in a chocolate Sunday which neither
of us needed but was wonderful. Another
entre was a Marie Callenders chicken pot pie.
Baked potatoes: We had one night
with a plain potatoe with butter on it, and we had a second night with a full
dressed potatoe with chili and cheese and sour cream. Neither nursing home nor senior living residence
offered such fancy mouth watering fare.
Oh, I am so glad to be home.
