...destruction derby day....
We just had more fun than a barrel of monkeys. Firemen were everywhere with their boots
encouraging us to donate. We did. Lots of folks did so kids can go to The Burn
Institute’s Summer Camp.
Then there was the Coronado Fire Department’s bagpipe group,
and a good singer to give us the national anthem to start the mess. They gave us a parade in, and a lot of good
fun.
Between rounds, the firemen tried to get their cars running
again to be in the second round. Here’s
a fireman jumping on the hood. Below,
action with a sledge hammer and climbing back in the steed for the second round.
Boom, crash, thud, creak, it's all there in those photos.
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I believe all that would have been too much. I would have fled in search of a quiet spot.
ReplyDeleteIncredible photos! Wahooooo!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good time was had by all. Our kids absolutely loved the demo derby. It was a real-life version of their playing with their cars...always crashing them.
ReplyDeleteI totally do not get the urge to smash cars. Dianne
ReplyDeleteLinda, I'm with you--save me a quiet spot too! But lest I forget--it was for a good cause.
