INVENTORY

Dishes: Soft green white and cinnamon Russell Wright dishes with a little color to add snap.

Cross stitch and embroidery both found in thrift stores.

George’s Chevy pickups and tow trucks in Gimpa’s glass fronted book case.

Yes, way too many dishes.  Yes, too many metal trucks, and too much red in the living room, but I have it on my computer.  Progress.  None of my mother’s art, but several of mine and of my grandma’s pastelles.  Yes, it all looks neat, but that’s because all our messes live behind glass.  I laugh at myself often.

When my Victorian house burned in the 1970’s, I had not one pictures of anything in that house.  I do from the big house and the cottage.  Most importantly, I have an acre of a pictoral inventory here.  When I did that clean out and discard job last year, the author encouraged us to make an inventory at the end.  I’m a little late, but it’s done.

  • Himself:  At work.  Knee doing better.  Bought things to make his costume better at Joanne’s.
  • Herself:  I got the gold lame pinned too g’s costume.  Bought my costume fabrics last night.
  • Reading:  Back to the book on Graham’s book on “Washington.”  Most of it is fascinating.
  • Gratitude’s:  That most of me feels good too.

  1. I did all this once quite some time ago now...things have changed....I should probably do it again.

  2. Although we have nothing of great value around here, it is the way we live our lives, and should any of it disappear in fire or flood, I would want to replace it. We fortunately have the kind of insurance that replaces what you have. Did well when Terry's camera was stolen, and another time when our luggage was stolen from the back of our car (which we had inadvertently left unlocked). I have, over the past few years, taken interior shots of our home, just to be doing. I think they would work for an insurance agent.

    1. Thank you. I must admit there's far too much stuff in it, but we use most items. :)

  5. You are so organized. You are smart to take a photo inventory of your possessions. I use to make videos for people for a living till everyone got a smart phone. Insurance companies rarely take your word for what you lost.

  7. I love that glass display case! It keeps the dust off the trucks. Excellent! You have the most beautiful rooms.
