It hasn’t been a good year
for the Captain and her sister, Mia. Mia
is home now recovering from a double bypass.
Captain Poolie is once again in the hospital with the worst of the side
effects from her Chemo. All cancers are
ugly and frightening. My mother started
her ongoing battle with Colon cancer in 1948 followed by a long list of other
cancers. Bobbie’s husband, Mikey, died
of lung cancer. My father died of cancer
as did my special friend Joleen.
Lymphoma is a tough
one. They say the Captain is in
remission, but after this latest infusion she is at a terrible bottom. I’m sure all good thoughts and prayers aimed
her way would be appreciated.
……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………….
- Himself: Helping me. Lunch out and work at the museum. Dinner at Costco and visit Poolie.
- Herself: Got started on the second quilt panel yesterday. Following G around today.
- Reading: Still reading the Preston&Child.
- Gratitude’s: For us, for friendships.
Holding hopeful healing thoughts for them both.
ReplyDeleteOh my! Some people have a tough row to hoe.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry that your friend is going through such a rough spot. It's hard for you, too, to have to watch. Cancer makes us all feel so helpless. I just finished reading Tom Brokaw's book, "A Lucky Life Interrupted." It tells of his journey with cancer and the lessons he has learned along the way.
ReplyDeleteSending all good thoughts out to your friend. Take care!

ReplyDeletePrayers going out for both of them during these rough times.Hopefully it will all soon be behind them.
