Glorious stuff spring
green. I’m really enjoying seeing the
leaves grow, see the grasses go from their winter greys, and see the sun out
for a little while. Pretty soon we will
have May Grey and June Gloom with us, but right now there is
a burp in the weather and we have sunshine.
The Federal Building, in
the photo above, isn’t the Sports museum any more. “Hall of Champions” they called
themselves. Captain Poolie, Director of
the museum across the plaza, called it an event location. What a shame.
But now we have something else moving in…Comic Con.
Wikipedia tells us, “It
was founded as the Golden State Comic Book Convention in 1970
by a group of San Diegans that included Shel Dorf, Richard
Alf, Ken Krueger, and Mike Towry;[4][5][6][7] later,
it was called the "San Diego Comic Book Convention". It is a four-day
event (Thursday–Sunday) held during the summer (in July since 2003) at
the San Diego Convention Center in San
Diego.” It is now so much more than
comic books shown in the dark basement of the US Grant Hotel.
They have renewed their
lease on the Convention Center with the city of San Diego. Why not also have a location to showcase the
arts in the city where they started. They say they also
plan to have Panels throughout the year.
I would hope they hire a real museum director that knows to rotate
shows. I’m looking forward to seeing
what they do amid the fresh Spring green in Balboa Park.

- Himself: Back to the gym and working a light queue.
- Herself: Actually did ALL the laundry and most of the grocery shopping yesterday. Forgot the avocados…gotta have those. Sure did have trouble waking up today. Nothing scheduled this week at all.
- Reading: Pulling the bed out to get to the Mrs. Polifax books.
- Watching: A new NCIS tonight.
- Gratitude’s: That I finally woke and with a smile.
I look forward to that glorious spring green too, Mage. Enjoy!
