THE STAR SAILS

The Star of India being towed out in 2009. Photographed from the top of the Point.

She hasn’t sailed in five years.  This year, on her 155th Birthday, the Star of India sails again.

We will drive down to Shelter Island to get a few good pictures.  Then off to the big book sale, breakfast out, dinner shopping, and a nap.  A simple but busy day.  He’s staying home from the several meetings and the museum…tho he could have used my scooter.

We joke, “It’s only leaking a little.”

“Mine too,’ I say.

  1. A delightful picture. Simply beautiful. Look at all those people. Even on the yardarms!

  4. Exciting! Annapolis set out with a new ship today. I think it was called the USS Souix City?

  6. Lucky you. I love tall ships but seldom get to see one up close.
