She hasn’t sailed in five years.
This year, on her 155th Birthday, the Star of India sails
again.
We will drive down to Shelter Island to get a few good pictures. Then off to the big book sale, breakfast out,
dinner shopping, and a nap. A simple but
busy day. He’s staying home from the
several meetings and the museum…tho he could have used my scooter.
We joke, “It’s only leaking a little.”
“Mine too,’ I say.
A delightful picture. Simply beautiful. Look at all those people. Even on the yardarms!
ReplyDeleteThis year they got towed far far out before letting down the sails.
DeleteWhat a thrill to see it underway again.
ReplyDeleteIt would be a real treat to see that beauty, Mage.
ReplyDeleteExciting! Annapolis set out with a new ship today. I think it was called the USS Souix City?
ReplyDeleteWe can go again tomorrow for more photos.
ReplyDeleteLucky you. I love tall ships but seldom get to see one up close.
