Before and after: He was working on
an old rosewood table. The table saw
caught on something in the wood and sent his hand through the saw. During his stay in the hospital, they began
giving him insulin. He started on a
diet, and not only is his blood sugar level now normal, he is 35 pounds
thinner.

I am so glad the doctor saved my hand.
ReplyDeleteBoy, I am too.
DeleteG was really lucky alright, Mage. Glad he’s recovering so well.
ReplyDeleteWow, George, that is one fearsome looking scar. Those doctors were miracle workers. Congrats on the weight loss and keep healing.
ReplyDeleteKudos to the medicos who put his hand back together. That is beautifully ugly. Ugly beautiful? What a fabulous job. Kiss those guys on the lips, every last one. May you have a complete recovery, though you might want to hang onto that scar.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad that some good came out of it, but that is sobering.
ReplyDeleteOMG!!! the way you described it before I thought the piece of wood somehow tore up his hand, not the saw! he's lucky an artery wasn't cut. thanks be to skilled surgeons.
ReplyDeleteThe artery was cut through.
DeleteWonderful they saved his hand. Good work docs! My granddaughter recently sawed clear through a finger with a sawsall. They saved her finger too. Bone smashed in many pieces. It's amazing what they can do. It still tingles, nerves take a very long time to heal/grow back but they do.
ReplyDeleteYiiiikes! Thank goodness the doctors were able to save his hand. And how wonderful that the insulin is also helping him.
ReplyDeleteThat must have been so frightening when it first happened. The medics have done an amazing job.
