A ghostly George with a common cold.
It’s that time of year again. Not just “All Hallows” Eve, but it’s “Day of the Dead” day too. In Mexico, families put up altars to those who have died. They celebrate them with flowers, favorite foods, and images. They dance, they sing, they paint their faces, and new to the celebration, they parade.
Wikipedia has “The Day of the Dead” well described: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Day_of_the_Dead
I share with you some of my friends that I celebrate.
Janey.
The Jetty Dancer.
Duck with George
Blather and Diane.
Veronica and Marion.
Michael.
Mage with Dixie Anna Stuart.
Lee.
Joleen.
My kids and I are still here, but everyone else is gone.

It definitely is bittersweet to live so long that you have a long list of friends to commemorate.
ReplyDeleteIt's so sad to think of friends and family who have left us.
ReplyDeleteAnd there are so many too.
DeleteI like the parade of friends. Sorry for all of the loss though.
ReplyDeleteSorry for all your losses but the remembering can be kind of sweet. They never truly leave.
ReplyDeleteGreat to remember old friends that way. The Mexicans have the right idea!
ReplyDeleteYep. We've reached that time in life where we start losing people.
ReplyDeleteThe photos bring friends back to life, the memories are priceless.
ReplyDeleteNaps are good! LOL I was surprised that I recognized so many of your friends who have passed. I especially remember Paula, Marion and Duck. I utterly hate the thought of you not being here in my life... do take care of yourself!
ReplyDeleteYes, naps are a good thing.
ReplyDeleteSo hard to lose so many friends but that’s the price of aging I find, too.
