DEAR FRIENDS....

Sorry that I am so very slow getting back to you.  At least I know that you read my blog and know where I am.   Home, marvelous stuff home.  Yes, covid.  I am still wearing a mask when I go somewhere,  and yes, we were right on top of everything getting all the shots as soon as we could.  I did fine until I was sent to the nursing home.  That's where I caught it....No one should go to Balboa.

Lingerings:  I still cough.  Worst of all, not using my legs for the month plus left them so weak that I cannot walk well at all.  I did get from the garage door to the truck two days George is wonderful.  I try not to bother him.  Occasionally he does lose his temper. I don't take it personally when he does.  I have PT,  OT, and volumes of follow-up doctors appointments...the first one today with the oncologist.

After a new cat scan without contrast and a blood draw from  my port, he thinks there is a couple of targeted meds that will work for a while.   Encouraging.

  1. Sure hope you are recovering completely from the Covid. Not fair. Suppose your roommate at the nursing home gave it to you? Hope George stays safe and forgive him if he gets a bit cranky. Care giving even when you love the person you are caring for so deeply is the hardest job in the world. Be well soon lady.

  2. It has to be near impossible to avoid Covid in a nursing home these days. There are outbreaks here with Omicron when we escaped the previous strains. I hope you and G are both doing okay.

  9. Praying that those new drugs work wonders for you. I'd like to keep you around for quite a while longer, if you don't mind!! We're all getting older... Sad to say. But we will continue to persevere and hang tough together!!! Hugs and much love to you and G.
